What do I need to log-in to uPrint?

You need a WatIam User ID and password.

How do I print from a faculty lab computer?

In faculty labs with a release station, submit your job, then go to the release station and swipe your WatCard or login with your WatIam credentials. Select which of your jobs you’d like to print. You will only see your print jobs.

In faculty labs without a release station, submit your job, then log into uprint.uwaterloo.ca with your WatIam credentials. Select which of your jobs you’d like to print. You will only see your print jobs.

How do I access uPrint from home?

Access to uPrint requires an on-campus network connection. You can connect to the campus network from home using the Waterloo VPN. How can I print from my phone, tablet or other wireless device?

To print from a wireless device you need to be connected to the campus network via eduroam. Instructions on how to sign into eduraom can be found on IST’s website at https://uwaterloo.ca/information-systems-technology/services/eduroam-wireless-network/connecting-eduroam-wireless-network

How do I print from my WatCard?

You will need to have flex dollars on your WatCard. You can add flex dollars to your WatCard at any time at http://www.watcard.ca

Do I need to sign up for a printing account (XAS) to use uPrint?

No need to sign up on XAS to send print jobs to uPrint printers.

How long is my print job retained in the uPrint printer?

Print jobs are retained in the printer queue for two hours.

What file types are supported by uPrint?

Microsoft Office and PDF are supported file types.

What is the maximum file size?

File size of a print job cannot exceed 100MB.

What if I need a refund?

You initiate the refund request option in uWaterloo.ca/uPrint.  Approved refund amounts will be made available for future print jobs (refunds will not be added back to your WatCard).  There is no service fee for refunds.

Where do I go for assistance?

During Regular Business Hours (9am - 5pm Mon - Fri):

  • Call or text 519-574-8822.
  • Visit the uPrint Demo Station and Help Desk in Campus Tech SLC.
  • Ask for help from any Media.Doc staff in CEIT, Dana Porter, Davis Centre, Math
  • Ask Faculty Service Desk staff in Faculty Computer Labs that have printers connected to uPrint.

After 5pm on weekdays or during weekends, leave a message at the number above and someone will return you call during business hours.
